THIRST

The battle over your soul continues until we break free from the bonds of this lost and dying world (either by bodily death or the 'Rapture').

A believer's heart and mind are constantly under attack ... For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12)

We are told to ... run with endurance the race that is set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)

To do so, a connection to the source of our strength must be maintained ... looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)

As any distance runner knows, the body needs to take in water to replenish that which is being expended in the race. The Lord provides ... I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. (Revelation 21:6)

If you seem to be under 'drought conditions', it may be because you are standing still. Pushing forward on your walk of faith is what brings the kind of 'thirst' that triggers Jesus Christ's release of 'living water' ... Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (Matthew 5:6)

Does your soul thirst for righteousness?

If that intense desire is not there, perhaps you need to ... examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you - unless, of course, you fail the test? (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Thirst is what separates a religion 'about' God ... from a relationship 'with' God.
