FROM WHAT ... TO WHAT ?

The Bible reveals:

  • Mankind's need for salvation.
  • God's plan for salvation.
  • The 'It is finished' act of salvation.

From what are you saved?

  • The power of sin: Jesus answered them, 'Truly, truly I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin'. (John 8:34)
  • The penalty of sin: The punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might. (2 Thessalonians 1:9)
  • The guilt of sin: There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)

To what are you saved?

  • Adoption: You received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, 'Abba, Father'. (Romans 8:15)
  • Eternal life: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
  • An inheritance: His grace is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. (Acts 20:32)

Scripture makes it clear that salvation is a 'gift' ... But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved). (Ephesians 2:4-5)

How do you receive it? ... If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 9-10)

If you've yet to accept Christ as Savior, now's the time ... Lord, forgive me. I know that I am lost in sin and that I cannot save myself. I believe that you are the only begotten Son of God, that you bore my iniquity on Calvary's cross, and that the grave could not hold you. By faith, I receive the gift of salvation and surrender my life to your Lordship.

There's much to be delivered 'from' ... and much to be delivered 'to'.
