GOD'S LOVE

Many of today's organized religions teach God's love in one of two ways. Both miss the mark ...

1. Some believe that since 'God is Love', mankind has nothing to worry about; that men can reject the Gospel and still be welcomed into His Kingdom (no repentance needed, since 'grace' automatically covers immorality). Scripture says otherwise ... Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? (Romans 6:1-2)

2. Others claim that obedience is necessary to release God's love; that we 'earn' it somehow. But the truth is ... His love for mankind existed before time began. It has always been 'active', never 'reactive'. And there is absolutely no one beyond its reach ... But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Here lies the answer ... God's love is unconditional. God's salvation is conditional. 

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

The Lamb of God needed to die in our place. The sufficiency of Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice is what rescues us from eternal judgment. But this is not granted to those who do not surrender to His Lordship. 

He is God's love 'personified'.

Salvation's one 'condition' is to put faith in the One who bore our sin on Calvary's cross ... Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me'. (John 14:6)
