OOPS

According to the dictionary, a 'mistake' is an unintentional error in action, calculation, opinion, or judgment caused by poor reasoning, carelessness, or insufficient knowledge. 'Sin', on the other hand, is any thought, word, or deed that transgresses divine law. It is considered a deliberate act of disobedience.

Referring to 'sin' as a 'mistake' is man's delusional attempt to deflect the pangs of guilt ... If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8)

When you think of your iniquity as an 'error in judgment', an 'indiscretion', or merely an 'oops' moment, you've intellectually justified sin.

Simply 'forgiving yourself' does not excuse you from the eternal consequences of an unrepentant life.

John Bunyan - Sin is the dare of God's justice, the rape of His mercy, the jeer of His patience, the slight of His power, and the contempt of His love.

Christ's atoning sacrifice is the only way you can be expunged ... If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8-9)

Willful disregard of the Lord's directions is not the same as accidentally turning down the wrong street.

Quit calling sin a 'mistake'.
