There is a deep chasm separating good and evil now. The distance between the two sides is growing exponentially as the age of grace comes to an end.
Paul foresaw the wickedness of this generation ... But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. (2 Timothy 3:1-4)
Human beings were created with an innate understanding of 'right and wrong'. Yet immorality has plagued mankind from Adam on ... So then, just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all people because all sinned. (Romans 5:12)
That 'spiritual virus' has now morphed into something even more hideous. Sin is applauded and righteousness is condemned. This is not going unnoticed by God ... Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20)
As Christians witness the world plummet to new depths of depravity, it is easy to feel the war is against us personally. When in fact it is against our Lord.
Men have become ... God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do them but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:30-32)
Don't be dismayed. The 'widening' gulf between good and evil is according to God's will. He is pushing evil men away and pulling believers unto Himself as the day of the Lord approaches.
Apparently, He is done striving with 'corrupted vessels' meant for destruction ... and readying His beloved children to come home.
