WE CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE

Comprehending the true majesty of God is impossible ...

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! (Romans 11:33)

Try as we might, describing Him in human terms is an exercise in futility ...

'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways', declares the Lord. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts'. (Isaiah 55:8-9)

If the Lord hadn't chosen to reveal Himself, our perception of God would be filtered through what we've personally experienced. He allows us to see beyond this earthbound existence into the Spiritual realm, by way of ...

  • His handiwork ... For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made. (Romans 1:20)
  • His Word ... And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. (Luke 24:27)
  • His Son ... He who has seen Me has seen the Father. (John 14:9)

So ... even if we can't know Him 'fully', we can know Him 'truly'.

Christians look forward to a time when everything will be made clear ... For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. (1 Corinthians 13:12)

We currently 'walk by faith, not by sight', fully convinced that ... He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to His power that works in us. (Ephesians 3:20)

One day soon, we will be in God's presence and see Him as He is. Get ready to be in awe.
