DON'T LOSE HEART

If you've been a believer for any length of time, you know that Christianity is not a 'trouble-free' walk in the park.

We are tasked with navigating a stormy sea fraught with suffering, sickness, temptation, failure, loneliness, and persecution. Wave after wave slams against the hull of our ship, and we grow tired in the battle.

Don't allow discouragement to set in. That's heaven's shore on the horizon ... Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Galatians 6:9)

You are not alone ...

The Lord equips you with the patience and perseverance necessary to stay the course ... Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:1-2)

The original word for 'author' means 'leader' ... suggesting that Jesus is a pace or two ahead of you the entire way. If you keep your eyes fixed on Him, you'll avoid the things that attempt to crush your will.

When you feel that you can't go on, the Lord is there to strengthen your resolve. Call on Him ... Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (Psalm 51:12)

Scripture exhorts you to ... Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12)

So don't lose heart, pilgrim ... your redemption draweth nigh.
