The Holy Spirit transforms a believer into the likeness of Christ. The presence or absence of 'gratitude' is one of the best indicators of where you are in that process.
It is evidence of spiritual growth ... rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, abounding in thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:7)
'All-encompassing' ... In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Note that this it does not say 'for' everything give thanks ... but 'in' everything. (under every circumstance)
Don't ruin your testimony by complaining ... Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, (Philippians 2:14-15)
It is 'gratitude' that calms your soul ... Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6)
Live with an 'attitude of gratitude' ... Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. (Colossians 3:17)
Don't wait until you 'feel' grateful ...
At all times, in every situation, before, during, and after trials, in bright days, and dark nights ... give thanks.
