It is a marvelous truth that if you surrender your life to God, honor His Word, and walk by faith; there are eternal rewards for the things done in your body. The Judgment Seat of Christ (also known as the Bema Seat) is where a believer's acts of service are brought into account ...
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad [fruitless]. 2 Corinthians 5:10
If you have received the gift of salvation, this judgment is to reward your obedience, not to judge sin. (The 'Great White Throne Judgment' is reserved for the unrepentant). The following precious promises have been made to those who've put their faith in the Lord ...
By His knowledge [of what He has accomplished] the Righteous One, My Servant, shall justify the many [making them righteous before God], For He shall bear their sins. Isaiah 53:11
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1
Many Christians believe that the only thing that really matters about Heaven is whether you get to go there or not. That kind of 'indifference' robs them of a life of service to the Lord. Appearing before the judgment seat empty-handed is not something befitting a true child of God.
John MacArthur - The greatest consequence of unfaithfulness here on earth is that it disappoints Christ. 'And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.' That is a sobering thought ... that we could be ashamed when we stand before the Lord.
It is not prideful to desire the following affirmation from Jesus ... 'Well done, good and faithful servant'.
Continually seek to serve the Lord in order that the life-giving water in your well does not run dry.
