WHO IS JESUS CHRIST?

To those who know Him ... His deity is undeniable.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. Colossians 1:15

To call Christ the 'image' of God does not mean mere 'likeness or resemblance'. The Greek word, eikon, conveys that the Son is the perfect expression and representation of the Father. Don't misunderstand the term 'firstborn' (as do the Jehovah's Witnesses and other false religions). It actually means that Jesus is the rightful heir, the owner, the possessor of creation ... not a 'creation' Himself.

For by Him, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him, all things consist. Colossians 1:16-17

'All things' means just that ... 'all things'. Everything exists in Him, for Him, and through Him. Jesus Christ is the Sphere in which they exist, the Agent through which they came into being, and the One for whom they were made.

Being 'born again' represents a beautiful and necessary 're-creation' ... we become children of God, walking in newness of life.

And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.  Colossians 1:18

Jesus guides, directs, and controls the actions of the body. The church (not organized religion, but Christians themselves) is the vehicle through which the Lord chooses to express Himself to the world.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:19-20

Spurgeon - It tells us that Christ is substance and not shadow, fullness and not foretaste. This is good news for us, for nothing but realities will meet our case. What joy these words give to us when we remember that our vast necessities demand a fullness - an 'all' fullness - before they can be supplied.

Jesus has been thought of as one of the most influential people to have ever lived. But seeing Christ merely on the basis of His exemplary life and moral teachings is not enough ...

The Son of God became a human being, lived without sin, died in our stead, and was buried in a borrowed tomb. Three days later, He rose ... and the perfect plan of salvation was consummated. The grave could not hold Him, death was defeated, and He now sits at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for those who put their faith in Him.

So ... who is Jesus Christ?

He is Lord.
