The Word of God provides nourishment for one's soul and is the source of spiritual maturation ... yet many of today's churches have abandoned the preaching of steadfast Biblical truths. They have substituted ear-tickling sermonettes rooted in man-made precepts.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for instruction, for conviction, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:15-17
The mark of Christian maturity is not how much truth you understand, but how much you use those truths. In the spiritual realm, the opposite of ignorance is not knowledge ... but 'obedience'.
Though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food. Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Hebrews 5:12-14
How long you've been a Christian has nothing to do with spiritual maturity. It is not how many times you've turned the pages of your Bible ... it's whether the pages of your Bible have 'turned' you. Are you being changed by the Word's sanctifying power?
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
Growing in age but not in wisdom? ... don't be that person.
