The Lord is our advocate. His presence is twofold by nature and His guiding hand ensures victory. In the never-ending conflicts and perils of this life, we need both resources ...
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear. Psalm 46:1
Sometimes 'resting in the Lord' is the best strategy. Be still, and know that I am God: (Psalm 46:10).
At other times, 'action' is required to fight spiritual battles and resist temptation. Fight the good fight of the faith ... (1 Timothy 6:12).
Three important truths ...
1. If you desire to experience God’s protection, you must first belong to Him. This comes by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. By trusting in Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection as the atonement for sin ... eternal life is yours for the claiming.
2. In this world, you will experience pain, conflict, and hardship. But ... in the midst of it all, the Lord is working everything out for good. Endurance for the race comes through your abiding in Him and His abiding in you. The indwelling Holy Spirit strengthens your resolve with insight into God's objective.
3. Your Christian life's sole purpose is to exalt and glorify the Lord. As you find rest in God's sovereign protection and strength to fight in the battle, you demonstrate to the world His 'goodness' and 'power'. No matter what comes your way, trust Him. His love for you never wavers and His promises are sure.
As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him. 2 Samuel 22:31
