RECONCILED

The purpose of the Gospel is to reveal man's lost condition, the Lord's plan to save him from it, and the 'reconciliation' that takes place through faith in Christ.

For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Romans 5:10-11

Sin created an unspannable gulf between you and God. Reconciliation is not something you can accomplish in your own strength ... it is a 'gift' that you either accept or reject. Vain religion, doctrines of men, and 'good works' are feeble attempts to appease a holy God ... they are all destined to fail.

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19

As a result of receiving salvation by grace through faith, believers are given a wonderful privilege ... the 'ministry of reconciliation', i.e. sharing the 'good news' of Jesus Christ's redemptive act. When God takes hold of your life, you will have a sincere concern for the souls of others.

And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation'. Mark 16:15

This ministry is not teaching men what they must do to satisfy a debt, but an entreaty to be 'reconciled' to God through what He has wrought in Christ.

Rod Mattoon - Reconciliation is a divine provision by which God's holy displeasure against alienated sinners is appeased. His hostility against men is removed. A harmonious relationship between the Lord and the saved sinner is established. It occurs because God in His grace was willing to design a way to have all the sins of those who have put their faith in Christ covered by His blood.

Through faith, the 'lost' are reconciled to God and a dramatic change occurs. A heart of unbelief and hatred is turned to one of trust and love.

In all other religions, men bring offerings designed to win the affection of some agitated deity. Only in Christianity, does God take the initiative to win (at terrible cost) the affection of those who have wounded Him by their sins.

If you have never accepted the gift of salvation ... do it now. Be reconciled to God by trusting in the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son as the payment for sin.

Acknowledge Christ as Lord and surrender your broken life to His care.
