CONSPIRACY THREORIES

For those who have surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ ... indulging in 'conspiracy theories' presents a problem.

This world's controversies pique our interest and draw us away from what's important. Our old nature is intrigued by that which is behind the veil ... causing us to hypothesize and present vain supposition as fact.

The Lord's sovereignty and omniscience are relegated to an 'afterthought' when we're distracted by such things. We move from our 'God-given, vertical vision' to 'horizontal groping in the dark'.

Two warnings ...

1) Don't get ahead of what God wishes to reveal. He will tell us what we need to know when He is ready. Conspiracy theories take time and effort away from our service for Christ ... Such things promote useless speculations rather than God’s redemptive plan that operates by faith. (1 Timothy 1:4)

2) Exposing the truth is good, but obsessing over rumor, hearsay, and half-proven truths is harmful. It preys on ignorance and gullibility, resulting in an anxious and troubled state of mind ... God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

He calls believers to something better ... What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Endless speculation about conspiracy theories is, at best, a waste of time. At worst, the obsession induces paralyzing fear. Let go of the mysteries God hasn’t chosen to reveal and rest in His divine plan ... I know that You can do all things; no purpose of Yours can be thwarted. (Job 42:2)

It’s good for serious worldly matters to come to light but when they don't ... living the Christian life need not be hindered.
