The Lord desires an intimate relationship with every believer and that requires 'alone time' with Him. He created us as individuals and invites us to come to Him that way ... Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need. (Hebrews 4:16)
This is where our security in Christ is confirmed, our burdens are lifted, our iniquity is dealt with, and our focus on the One who loves us beyond measure is renewed ... Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. (Acts 3:19)
Christ instructed His followers to find an isolated place to pray so that it might go unhindered ... But whenever you pray, go into your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you. (Matthew 6:6)
Spurgeon - A little boy, who was accustomed to spending some time every day in prayer, went up into a hayloft ... always pulling the ladder up after him. Someone asked why he did so. He answered, "As there is no door, I pull up the ladder." Oh, that we could always in some way cut the connection between our soul and the intruding things that lurk below.
Spending time alone with God helps silence the ever-intrusive noise of this fallen world - the constant distraction that keeps you from hearing His voice.
Find rest for your weary soul by frequently meeting with the Lord 'one on one'. In most cases He simply wants you to ... Be still, and know that He is God. (Psalm 46:10)
