Love is intrinsic to the Lord's very nature, for ... 'God is Love'. (1 John 4:8)
Everything that flows from His throne is 'rooted in' and 'motivated by' it. Considering divine holiness and perfect justice also reign there, how could love be freely granted to a lost and dying world?
Reconciliation could only come through faith in Christ's atoning sacrifice.
God's Love is ...
- 'Sacrificial': For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
- 'Redemptive': In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of his grace that He lavished on us in all wisdom and insight. (Ephesians 1:7-8)
- 'Unconditional': God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
- 'Steadfast': For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)
Allow the 'boundless love' of God to not only save your soul, but grace your walk of faith.
The following hymn describes it beautifully ...
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.
O love of God, how rich and pure!
