Many sojourners stumble across this daily devotional website. So periodically, we dedicate a post to answer life's most important question ...
What must I do to be saved?
Everyone needs a Savior ... All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Acknowledge that you are of Adam's fallen race, a drifter in this lost and dying world.
That verdict demands that an immutable sentence be carried out ... For the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23) The penalty you've 'earned' must be paid.
There's good news for you, guilty one ... But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) He made a way where there was no way.
His personal invitation ... For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) An 'RSVP' is requested.
The answer to 'What must I do' ... If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) Surrender all you are to all He is.
It's time. Jesus is lovingly beckoning you ... Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
Call on Him ...
Jesus, forgive me. I know that I am lost in sin and that I cannot save myself. I believe that you are the only begotten Son of God, that you bore my iniquity on Calvary's cross, and that the grave could not hold you. By faith, I receive the gift of salvation and surrender my life to your Lordship.
The Holy Spirit dwells in those who receive the gift of salvation. He will guide you along the narrow way that leads to eternal life.
Walk by faith and not by sight.
Pray often.
